Elderville Lakport VFD, Inc along with Kilgore FD, Longview FD, Longview CERT, Champion EMS and others participated in an emergency preparedness drill at the East Texas Regional Airport hosted by Gregg County. 

As part of our bi-monthly night drills we trained on different extrication techniques while utilizing our Rescue Equipment.

On Apr 29 - May 01, 2011 the Appleby VFD hosted a Truck Company Operations Class that lasted three days and was instructed by Task Force One Training. The instructors provided new or different methods of performing fireground training activities in regard to what a typical Truck Company would be tasked with on a fire ground. Evolutions included rescue operations, forcible entry and overhaul.

On June 13, 2011 following the 73 HR Introductory to Firefighting Course, a Live Burn Training Session was held for all of the firefighters who had completed the 73 Hour Course.
